S80 T6 Stopped
I had a strange problem with a 1999 S80 T6 (about 100,000 mi). This afternoon I drove to my office about 30 minutes away (all city driving, no highway). When I was about 2 blocks away from my office, I noticed the S80 slowed down (my foot was still on the gas pedal). I had to step on the gas pedal a little more to get it going. I checked the panel, there were no warning lights. The temperature gauge was at 12 o'clock, the tank was 90% full, cruise control was off. When I arrived the parking lot, I took my foot off the gas pedal, it slowed down very rapidly and came to a full stop. The parking lot was level. I checked the penal, again there were no warning. The idle speed seemed normal (about 800 to 900 rpm). I had to step on the gas a little more to get it going. But it stopped as soon as I took my foot off. I felt like someone stepped on the brakes, but of course my foot was not on the brake pedal.
About 30 minutes later, I returned to the car. It started without a problem, and everything returned to normal. I was able to drive home. Any idea what caused the problem? Thanks a lot. |

RE: S80 T6 Stopped
Hello Tech Thanks for your promt reply. Can the throttle body be serviced by a volvo specialist or do I have to take it back to a dealer? |
RE: S80 T6 Stopped
Usually only Dealer.
If it is the throttle body and you are in the U.S. it should be under recall. |
