Service Light Reset Tool for 00 S80?

I've been searching google, ebay, these forums. I cannot find a scanner for a 00 Volvo S80. Ive found them for 95-98 Volvos (not S80), and 2001-2007 Volvos (also not S80). I have a regular OBD-II Scanner, I want a Volvo specific one so I can reset the service engine light, and the service srs light. I figure at $100 a pop that Volvo wants to just reset the light, it would pay for itself. But I cant find a darned one! Someone please help!

Can you use the key position / trip odo trick to do this or not?

I tried the one I read on the forums, didn't work for the SRS one. The Service Engine one just came on, which I am assuming is for the 90k service? I have a little over 86k on the odo right now, I don't know how soon the service light would come on, or if it even does for the 90k service? I plan on getting that done, and I am sure they will reset the service lights for me, so thats not my main consern, but i've been reading that the service light will come on every 5k for **** like oil changes and what not.

Also, while i'm on the topic, i've never worked on a car with coil-on-plug which is what I think this car has. When I do a regular tune-up, what do I need, other than oil, oil filter (MANN?), air filter. I also think I have to do my brakes soon, they just started squeeking today. Do I need any special tools on this car for the brakes? I was reading somewhere you need one special tool?

Thanks for the response man :)

Don't thank me so quick - I have less posts than you! ROFL

I have the 2000 s80 as well so I'm there with you... non turbo though.

Filter cover tool is great, got mine at ipd. Also, you'll need the aluminum washers for the drain plug. Oil changes are easy enough. Haven't done the breaks yet on the car but I've ordered the belt, roller, and tensioner for a timing belt change. If you haven't done yours I'd strongly consider it.

Have you checked the scanner at fcpgroton.com?

The timing belt, etc is the 90k service I am talking about. I've had a bad experiece with timing belts, so I am getting that done professionally. Everything else I don't mind doing myself. Though I have done a lot of work on Honda/Mitsubishi/Subaru, this Volvo is a bit more complex (and much more confined as far as work space). What do you mean for the filter cover, is there a cover for the oil filter that you have to remove with a special tool?

I don't care how many posts you got, I can still thank you :)

Only reason I have the post I have, is in the two weeks I have owned my S80, i've had more issues than i've had on most cars in a year. (i've owned only 2 of my cars longer than a year, most last about 3mo).

It's all good.

There is a paper filter in these cars, not a typical encased filter. You remove a plastic filter cover and replace with a cartridge. You want the filter cap wrench adapter.

Timing belt on this car seems a whole lot more straight forward than on the other cars I own! Thus, I actually look forward to doing this one compared to having to drop a starter, install a flywheel lock, and yank the crank bolt off with 180 ft/lbs of torque. :)
