Does anyone here know a good place to order a SRS Reset Scanner for the 99 to 2008 S80..? This is to Clear the SRS Urgent Service MSG...

I 'think' its a volvo only tool, but are you sure you've fixed the problem? I had the dashboard out on my 2000 s80 and the SRS light came up afterwards, from reading the forum's I found that this can happen when you disconnect the centre console. Anyway, I pop in to Volvo, get them to reset it, but it comes stragiht back up. Turns out I'd damaged the contact real in the steering column ( very very expensive mistake ). I guess before spending money on a tool you could always just pop in to volvo, get them to reset it and see if it comes back up.

Unless of course you want one so you can reset multiple cars for the future. In which case ignore all of the above

I found one on the Internet that will reset the S80 as long as it's not the 2007 model for some unknown reason...I did the same thing someone else on here did..I pulled the HVAC Control panel out and disconnected it.... then reconnected it with the battery still connected.. tripping the SRS Urgent Service MSG. Kinda hard to believe the Airbag Circuit is on the same circuit as the HVAC circuit...makes no sense.....

Guess I'll just have to pull the Neg side of the battery NO MATTER what I'm doing with the electrical system..

There is NO Volvo Dealer with 300 hundred miles of here...just have to find an Independant mechanic that has a reset scanner for a Volvo...I also found out that the ones that reset BMW and Mercedes Benz airbag generally will also work with Volvos.

 

Hopefully you find something that works good.

I called around and a few shops said you had to have vidas and only a volvo dealer has that program. they wanted 118 just to inspect. So i called around and found a shop that had a different program but they were able to remove the code.....free of charge. All i did was remove the fuse on accident though so if you actually have a problem they would need to find the issue.
