steering stiffs when making slow left turn

Ok so about a month a go I hit a nice size bump which my car hit pretty hard. Two days later I was driving and noticed when making any turn the steering felt weird and also noticed my steering fluid was leaking real bad. The mechanic my sister recommend me checked my car a told me either I need a new rack and pinion or just replace the seals. I ended up just having him put new seals on instead since it was cheaper then buying a whole new rack and pinion. The leak stopped which is a good thing BUT when ever I make a slow right turn the steering gets hard like if there's no power steering fluid and the steering softens only if I go a little faster. The resevoir for the power steering is full so Idk what can be causing this problem. Any one has an idea? Please help

We had the same problem on my daughters 2000 S80. She was not loosing any fluid, but when at low idle such as parking or backing up slowly, the power steering just disappeared, but driving and higher rpm it was fine. I decided the cheapest was to determine what was causing it was to buy a recycled part and swap them out. I found one at a local parts yard for $35 and it was warrantied for 6 months. Took a couple of hours to put it in since I did it in the parking lot while she worked, but it solved it immediately. Just be sure if you or a friend do it, go to AutoZone and borrow (with a deposit of course) their tensioner tool for the serpentine belt.

The problem went away a day or so after my car was fixed I ended up taking back the power steering pump that cost me almost $200...now my other problem is the o2 sensor scanner reads P1111 O2 control (bank1) too lean....I don't even know which O2 sensor I have to change.
