Steering Wheel Removal

My wife was driving our 1999 S80 and discovered a noise in the steering wheel. Upon further inspection I determined that it is a bolt.
I need to remove the wheel and put it back in it's place.

Does anyone know how to do this?

There's three T-bolts on the bottom of the steering column and two in the back of the wheel.
I've taken these out and can't get access to anything that appears to "release" the airbag/wheel control module from the steering wheel.

There's two bolts on the side of the wheel that I've loosened but it this did'nt really do anything for me.

A prompt reply is appreciated.
As we need the car to go to work tomorrow.

Thanks,

TeamHog

Thanks FS.... I guess I'm not able to get that far.
It's the drivers airbag module I need now.
I think I see the screw that's loose.
It's the one in the pic at the 3:00 position.

I appreciate the quick response.

Thanks FS.

I've been "playing" with this thing with power still on it...
I just spent about an hour sticking a screwdriver and a few other small tools into and around the airbag.
I guess I shouldn't be doing that with the power on.

I'm not used to working on these things with airbags.
The last time I took a steering wheel apart it was just one nut and a steering wheel puller.

Thanks.. You've possibly saved me from alot of embarrasment.

RE: Steering Wheel Removal

I got it fixed....

Thanks for the info FS...

Once I disconnected the negative off the battery I was more comfortable tugging on the air bag module.
It came right off the wheel.. There'sa slight "catch" to it, but it's really easy.

The "key" are the two screws on the side of the wheel in back. Loosen those and you can take the module off.

There were a total of 4 screws that were either loose or that had come out.
I tightened all of them back up and put it back together.
Problem averted.

Thanks again...
