Susp noise

I have a front creek sound when I hit bumps and give the car gas from a dead stop. First started only doing it when I made a left turn and only on the left side. Then the right side started making a bit of the same noise, not as bad. But now, any major bump in the road gives out a creek/pop sound. Car drives fine, no vibs, had the stab arms replaced, does it sound like ball joints going bad?

Could be Bad Sway Bar links, Upper spring seats, Or Balljionts.

RE: Susp noise

I need a littel clarification on this topic. I have a creek noise coming from my front drivers side area when I go over speed bumps. It's not loud at all and I barely even noticed it. Is it not good if there is any creek noise, or is it only bad when it's loud?

Oh yeah, I did that suspension test and the best I could tell is that when pressure was applied the suspension went down and came straight back up.

RE: Susp noise

Funny thing, the Sway Bar links, Upper spring seats have been replaced. The noise is still there. when I push the struts up and down, they work fine, push down, then comes back up.

No noise unless car is moving. I have tried boucing it up and down, pushing it side-ways, jacking it up and dropping it fast.

NO NOISE.. But get in the car and move it 5 feet and hit a small bump, creek-pop. sounds just like the old ball-joint problem on a 1967 camero, except, I can sit all day long at a stand still, moving the wheel back and forth, no noise. Even took it to a mechanic, he heard the noise while driving, but just like me, couldn't isolate it at a stand still. He could not find where the noise came from and gave me the car back.

HELP HELP HELP!!! anyone have even a clue.

Should I just start changing parts?

If I put in new complete struts, how do I need to compress the spring?

RE: Susp noise

That would be my next guess is the strut.
You will need a GOOD spring compressor to compress the spring to replace the strut.
