Default tech questions

had a 99 S80 for about a year now. since new it has always had a hot oil smell
just after buying it would leave oil spots. had it in and had the orings for the turbo feed lines replaced.
no more oil spots but still had hot oil smell and was using a bit of oil.
spoke to the dealer they suggested the flame box(oil seperator box),changed that now its using less oil still smells like burning oil
had an emissons light come on. replaced the coil packs. no more light, still smells like hot oil.
started to run rough, cleaned the throttle body, now runs better still smells like hot oil.
found a leaking dip stick tube. replaced with updated tube and dipstick
Still has a hot oil smell.
now the emmisions light is on again. dealer ran the codes and says it needs the reburner valve and hose replaced. $240 worth of parts plus labour.
so
1: what is causing the hot oil smell when its drive. (no spots on the driveway, no smoke while driving)
2: is the constant need for parts ever gonna end?
3: what is the reburner valve, where is is located and is it possabe to clean or repair it instead of replacing it

love the car but have never had a car need so much in such a short period of time
