TECH: When should the Radiator Hose's be replaced?
 

Hello,

I would like to know when the Radiator Hose's need to be replaced on these cars. I have a 99 S80 2.9 and is close 130K miles. The reason why im asking is because I remember reading a post in this forum of a guy with an 850 and his radiator hose went badand it leaked and it destroyed his whole engine. So just want to be a little careful.

There really isn't a specific time.
A good inspection will tell you. If they feel really soft and swell then the car is hot then they are weak.
Or if they get really hard and are hard to squeeze or kind of crack when you squeeze then they are bad.

also you say the car is a 1999 and 130,000 miles, I would change the hoses if it were my car, follow tech's advice too .

And one more thing, how many Radiator hose's are there for this model.

You should have 2 Radiator,2 Heater, 2 coolant bottle. I think thats is.
