thats it Im on the edge of saying good bye to the s80 :(
three codes -
p1152 - Im assuming its one of the front o2 sensors, which I had planned to do this weekened but decided to put a hault to all this. p1237 -relating to the Turbo Control Valve? p0302 - misfire in cylinder 2, Im assumings its time for me to do my coil packs as the spark plugs were done at 96k Car now has a 111,156 miles on it.... I hear that if one coil pack is needed to be done that you need to do them all? |
Don't give up! I'm sure there is still hope :o
|
Trust me I know how you feel. I have an 06 with 113,000 on it and I already put well over $2,300 into it since I had it a little over a year.
New Front lower control arms, New Right front strut etc. I now need a new left strut and my drivers window just fell off it's track. That's another story but now I need to take it in yet again, sure with a new left front strut, alignment and window fixed will run me about $800 more! I love the car and it's killing me financially. These are great cars when you buy them new but when they hit 100K it seems all things start to go wrong. It's a shame because if you take well care of the drive train the motor can run forever. I faithfully change the oil every 3K with synthetic so I pray after this round of cash out of my pocket I can get another year out of it with no hassles. Arggggggg..... |
i mean I've owned this car for 5 years, its been in the shop every month from when I owned it.... no joke... I really like the car its just giving me amazing array of problems :(
haha now I cant keep up with them because of how busy I been, and its compounding lol... Everytime I think maybe this was a last problem, something else sparks up... I really do enjoy this car but I cant believe how many problems I've gone through with it... I dont mean to be venting :( but it this really bums me out lol.... |
Dang that is a headache but makes me worry even more seeing how mine as close to what yours has on it, millage wise!!!
Seems that most of the posts on the forum are for issues, mind you allot of them might be for more the high millage cars. Some are for newer lower millage ones too. Kinda scary. I do love this car, quick, comfortable and great gas millage but man expensive when they break or kunk out...... Shame as I feel safety has it's price. Safest car in it's class but reliable????? I suppose though that Mercedes and BMW's have their fair share of issues also........ |

They do not need to be done at once but it is a good idea to do it.
Espically on the T-6 unless you really like removing and installing the intercooler pipes on the top of the motor. |
gonna do my coil pack today, anyone know if cylinder #2 is....when your facing the engine from the left side over 2?
I guess I gotta take it one problem at a time lol.. |
so coil pack #2 done, total time 2 hours, lol 2 more codes to go...
Can anyone give some detail on how the o2 sensor in the front needs to be taken out? ...my turbo control valve will be covered under the delearship guarantee.. |
If I remember correctly you need to drop the back half of the exhaust to get to the front ones.
|
so lets say the car is on jack stands, are there like 4-6 bolts/screws holding the exhaust in? does it come off relatively easy? Once that is down, are the oxygen sensors easy to get too? I dont have a tool to let me know which sensor it is :/ is there a trick or something that tells me which one it is?
|
The scanner will usually say bank 1(cylinders 1,2,3) or Bank 2(Cylinders 4,5,6)
You remove the 2 13MM nuts holding the front and rear section of the exhaust together. Then remove the cross member holding the exhaust up by the subframe and let it hang down. Then you can get to the sensors. |
surprisingly my 99$ autozone scanner doesnt say it, it just says p1152, will have to take a look again with the scanner tommorow.
|
This shows bank 2. http://www.equus.com/support/obd2_definitions.php
Which would be the drivers side. |
Got the jack stands and floor jack today, o2 sensor I found one at advance auto parts for 105$, now my question is does it have to be five wire? or four wire? I assume 5 wire. Also got my o2 socket. So I should be good to go tommorow...
|
What is on the car now 4 or 5?
|
how can I tell if its 4 or 5 wire lol?
|
Either count the wires at the plug or unplug it and see how many terminals are in the plug.
|
thanks, Whats the best spot to put the jacks on the car?
|
If you are lifting the entire front end up you can go from the center of the subframe.
Then put the stands towards the out side of the subframe. |
