Thinking about dumping the Volvo
I think I'm about to count my losses and unloading my Volvo . I'm not getting any advice , and I think I'm in over my head with the repairs it needs.

You have to ask questions to get advice. Or at least share what's up...to get any sort of specific feedback. Lol

I think I have a lot to do.

I have a few threads posted under the S80 section from the past couple of months. My biggest issue now is , I just changed the transmission fluid and filter. Fluid wasn't burned and just had some fine material on the magnet (no chunks) now it is slipping when starting from a stop. Is it possible that I don't have the filter in all the way. Or should I start looking for another transmission. I own a 2000 S80 T6 ( with the GM transmission)

Gave my humble opinon in one of your other threads. $750 for an S80 with 125k miles with tranny problems (and other issue's) is a "money-pit" waiting to happen. Which is why I said in the other thread...Volvo parts are expensive. Part it out (sell popular easy to ship parts on eBay or Craig's List)...then sell the vehicle to a scrap yard. Should not have too much trouble getting your $750 back...and maybe make some profit.:)

A 2000 w/125K....it sounds like it is worth keeping.
Check what you can get for 2K...not much, and it will probably have 150K, or more, on it.... SO, see what a trans shop thinks, OR drive it until the trans finally goes, and then get it fixed. |
