Thoughts on this purchase? (please)
 

Here is the ad from my local Craigslist:
This is another fully loaded twin turbo, with sun roof, nav, heated leather, dual climate control, power everything, awesome car to roll around town or the freeway. It has alittle over 100k and is silver in color with a perfect tint job. The reason I'm asking so lo a price is because it's smoking out the tail pipe and I don't have the money to fix it and I don't know whats going to happen if I keep driving it around everyday like I am. It's eating a quart of oil every few times I fill up the car with gas. It's running now and I drive it around everyday, I have a motorcycle and don't need the car for the summer. Call me if you are going to buy it.

He is only asking $3200... Even if it needs gaskets or the like, what do you think?

What Model and year? Aso, something sounds a litte fishy in that...

I will bet it is a 99. Also if you buy I would have the vent system checked ASAP.

I wouldn't buy it unless you're willing to pump a lot of money into repairs. The oil consumption could be due to valve guide seals, worn rings, or a blown turbo seal, all of which will cost you substantial bucks to fix. If you could get it for $1K it might be a decent buy, IMHO. :)

Yeah, it is a '99 S80 T6. I think I will pass and look for something with less work, and risk, involved....
I'm starting to gain interest in the S40 model. I like the smaller size and the looks... We'll see. Thank you for the responses!
