Timing Belt Replacement

Where can I find instructions for a 2000 VolvoS80 timing Belt Replacement? My tensioner broke and I Have replaced it, I have a new timing belt and I want to know where the timing marks should be when I replace it. The other option is to direct me to a good service manual for this vehicle.

Thanks in advance for your help

If the tensioer broke most likely the valves are bent.

Maga, just out of curiosity how many miles did you have on your car when the belt broke?

The tensioner disintegrated, the belt did not break and the car was still running, though poorly. I discovered the broken tensioner while invetigating the poor running. That's why I want to change the timing belt as well, I suspect it probably skipped a notch or two. No loud clangs or chings, no sign of engine damage.

In reply to this "tech" is a genuine technician at a Volvo dealership and really knows his stuff. 99.9% of the time, when a tensioner gives and the belt "slips" the valves will get bent and require extensive engine work. If you are the exception than that's cool, but I assure you that tech is a "positive" individual.

You will have a hard time trying to set the timing.
The VVT valve has to be set a certain way.
You would also need a special tool to align everything back properly.
If not you will get a check engine light and it will be out of time.
