Tool needed to remove Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor

What is the tool needed to remove the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor (Next to the air filter housing) on a 2000 S80 T6.

It looks like a T25 security insert but the bolt has a 5 point star and the torx has 6 point star.

Thanks

You need to change the entire assembly not just the little insert.
Then a T-25 is needed.

the five point torx is fairly new, I first saw it on 2006 mercedes here where I work, so I had to buy a set of the new tools needed to remove certain bolts and screws, also, these type bolts and screws usally have threadlocking material on them so dont try to fabricate another tool to remove them, I lost that battle with a mirror bolt and made a mess out of a simple job, good luck.

Are these the external torx drivers you are referencing?

The tool is a Torx plus 25 "Tamper proof" "Five point star w/center security insert),licensed by Textron. The tool is very expensive and is a specialty item (cannot be purchase at local hardware store). They can cost as much or more as $9.50 per bit. I heard from a Volvo tech in WI that they can be purchased at Checker auto parts in Milwaukee but I have not had time to verify.

Cheers

Snapon has them on their website and no price is listed, meaning, bring your wallet, and your financing.

the set I have is S-K, they are a decent price, try a good local parts-tool store.
