Default transmission

This is a general question about transmission/engine pick-up. I purchased a 2001 S80 about two months ago. The transmission was bad and I had it repaired. It seems that when I accelerate its a little whinny as it goes up thru the gears. It gets there and runs fine, but I get more instant pick-up from my mothers 6 cyl. Saturn. It also seems to run thru the gears much better when it gets warmed up. Anybody have an opinion? Maybe thats the way S80's are geared? Could it be a computer thing? Thank you

Do you have enough transmission oil? As for the pick-up-and-go these Volvo's are not known for their acceleration. That and they weigh a lot for a sedan!
