Upgrades

Just got a 2000 T-6 and it has far more power than my 93 bmw, which is for sale by the way, but anyway its completely stock are there and mods that are reasonably priced that would bring up the power some more? This is my first Volvo and can't hurt to hear from ya'll. Thanks

RE: Upgrades

1. Become a member of http://www.volvospeed.com
Lots of info over there too, maybe not for your car but general info.

2. Search this forum and Volvospeed as well, there are members with your car with mods done.

3. Look at these sites...

4. Since you have the T6 model your already in good standing with power. However if you want more power this is what I suggest.

- Go to Volvospeed and search for STAGE 0, it is in the PERFORMANCE section in the PINNED threads. Do STAGE 0 first.
Also I would suggest getting a VAC/BOOST gauge so you can see how much vaccum you have and how much boost your making.
http://www.egauges.com has good deals on Autometer gauges.

- Next I would suggest an exhaust upgrade. This includes a 3" downpipe and with the T6 I believe you have two downpipes that run into one catback system. So get two 3" downpipes because the downpipe is where your going to see the gains and 3" is the best of both worlds for this. Also get a 2.5" catback system if you don't plan on putting on bigger turbos. However if you do plan on slapping on two bigger turbos then go with a full 3" catback system. In any event get these parts made by a local muffler shop, because it will be much cheaper then buying them premade from a aftermarket company. Also be sure the place can mandrel bend the pipes for the downpipe and catback system, and get a free flowing CAT and muffler like Magnaflow.

- Next I would get an ECU upgrade. IPD and RICA are the most exspensive, however I believe they give you the best tune out of the five companies listed. Also RICA will tune to your specific mods if you show them some dyno sheets from stock, and then with the performance mods done and some A/F ratios as well. Upsolute and SpeedTuning USA are the cheapest (Upsolute $400) and (ST USA $325). I have the ST USA ecu upgrade and I love it. They have about three different tunes, 12PSI / 15PSI / 17PSI programs.

*IPD
*EST
*RICA
*Upsolute
*Speed Tuning USA

The mods listed should net you some nice gains.

- You could also create a custom FMIC system as well. Bigger turbos, bigger fuel injectors, Nitrous system, etc....

RE: Upgrades

On an added note the car would look awsome with some tint on the windows, lowered and some nice 17 or 18 inch rims and tires.

RE: Upgrades

Ya i gotta get all that done, but well you know how money comes and goes it needs to do a little more of the coming instead of going first. I have 20% on my Bmw and its nice looking and all, but in MI 35 is minimum so instead of always getting pulled over I think I will be getting around 30% and I was planning on getting rims, but thats probably about a month away then I will have enough for those...as for the lowering that will be a little bit longet too...but hey it'll happen and I'll keep posting new pics
