Hi,

Would like to share my experience of having a bad starter.

Problem:
Got my car back few weeks ago after a replaced used tranny from my mechanic but the car won't start some times and RPM needle goes up and down like cursing and it start after few tries.

I tried and diagnosis the following things.
a. CAM / Crank Sensors
b. Replaced Wires coming from Positive to Fuse box and Starter (It can be though lot of ppl don't believe it)
c. Plugs
b. Battery

All above things need to be check if you are having starting problem and have no codes on the dash...there might be more but I am sharing what I did.

Finally I purchased a used starter of Volvo s80 2.5 (although my car is 2.9 but it worked) with cables and replaced the old one. Job time to be done is less than hour.
