Volvo S80 2016 T5 Drive-E Engine Idle Issue
Hi has anyone experienced this issue and know how to troubleshoot it.
I have a 2016 Volvo S80 T5 Drive-E. Current mileage at 105000miles/168000kms
It has the B4204T11 2.0 Turbo VEA engine with the Aisin 8 Speed automatic. Currently I am experiencing high idling in Park or Neutral with the A/C off. The RPM will spike from about 900 to 1500-1700. It drops back down before increasing again and repeats. With the A/C on, it still spikes but not as much, maybe from 800 to around 1200-1300. In drive, it also does the spiking but lower, around 800-1200. Spiking seems more prominent after driving for awhile and when everything is warmed up.
Car generally drives normally and smoothly. Although sometimes at very light throttle when vehicle is rolling can feel a bit hesitation/jerk but that seems more like the gearbox needing a fluid change.
Battery is new, car has just been serviced with new filters and oil. New starter motor replaced in 2024.
Mechanic did a air leak test but nothing was leaking. Cleaned my MAF sensor. Cleaned my throttle body. No error codes. No check engine light.
Could it be an IAC Valve? Or perhaps i need to replace my throttle body?
