Volvo S80 Xenon Headlight assembly

Would a Xenon Headlight (part #8678111) fit in a 2000 S-80? I want to convert my headlamps over to HID, but don't want to do it with cheap HID bulbs. I also like the look of the true factory Xenon HID headlamp assembly.

Why don't you purchase an HID kit from SharpHID and be done with it?

Lifetime warranty if you buy the kit with that warranty and great serivce.

The kits are not cheap, they are very well built and worth the money.

I have thought about doing that too. I like the look of the factory assembly. If they don't fit, I'll probably go with a kit from SharpHID.

Actually my xenons burnt out and I sold them(got replacement), I have to say that the temperature that these xenon bulbs run at are HOT, and I believe they damaged my headlight -- now water gets into my headlight. But I used rainX and it is some whatbetter now.

RainX is designed to bead away water, So you can put it on any glass, majority of the people just put it on the windshield. Pretty much no matter how bad its raining, you dont need to use your windshield wipers (only on high way), So you can put it on any glass surface, so i put it on my headlights thinking it would help/stop water comming in and it did.

Sounds like a nice suggestion Gordon, I think il make a run to walmart this evening and get some..
Just wondering but whats the real point of the headlight wipers? Does water on the light REALLY affect your vision that much? I mean it looks classy but I dont consider it particularly necessary haha

The headlight wiper/washer activates when the windshield washer is being used. The premise here is that if the windshield needs washing the headlights probably do as well. It is the dirt on the headlight that reduces headlight intensity, not so much the water.

Well I understand that, but stil dont seee the absolute use really...
What kind of work would be required to upgrade to xenons? Would I need a completely new assy or can i simply swap the bulbs? I know its an obvious question but iv never owned a car with xenons... thanks

Why don't you just upgrade to HID's? Simple and cheaper then you think.

Ugraded to Xenon HID, now getting fault message

I upgraded my low beams to a xenon HID system on my 2000 S80, and now I'm getting a fault message every 20 to 30 seconds for failed headlights. Is this a common problem? I love the brighter lighting, but I'm not willing to have a continually locked-in failure annunciator.
