Volvo Tires

I have a 1999 Volvo , what tires do you recommended for this year? Also my check engine/service like is on, (call me silly) but what I am servicing? I would to narrow the problem down with being charged a bunch of money when I do take the car to be serviced.

Thanks

On the CEL, go to Autozone and let them use the OBDII reader to find out what the code is. That will give you an idea of what is wrong and how expensive to fix it will be of if it is something that can wait until a normal service interval

In terms of the tires it depends on where you live (North where there's snow or South where it is just rain) how you drive (aggressively vs. normal) and how much you want to spend (economy vs. higher end tire). Answer those questions and you'll be able to narrow down what type, brand and price you want to go with. Michelins are always good but the price can get pretty steep. Yokohama, Pirelli, Kelley, Fuzion, BF Goodrich, Goodyear, Firestone, Continental, etc. all make tires that will probably fit your car. One good site is www.tirerack.com. They have many different manufacturers and you can get some information about the tires you're interested in as well as some user comments.

if you want to save a few $$ over tirerack.com, try wwww.discounttiredirect.com and use their price match service...
