What kind of oil?
 

I have a 99 s80 non turbo, what kind of oil should i be putting. And what number should i get, it has 200k on it and winter is just starting.

Right now im putting castrol Syntec 5w 30. when i floor it sometimes at around 5k rpm the car jerks a bit and i open the hood and see oil has popped out of the oil pin tube and is all over the engine. The card rives fine after but why is it doing that?

Your PCV may need replacement. That can cause oil leaks at a variety of spots. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic so they can look the car over and identify any leaks that may be present as well as their causes.

As for the oil I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5w30. I asked the mechanic at my volvo dealership what weight he would run and he said that 5w30 will work fine but he prefers 10w30 for the summers. So I may switch to that when the winter passes.
