Default Basic maintenance on a 1999

So i recently got a 99 S80 T6 and fixed it up to proper level

any do it yourself maintenance guides out there besides "mathew's volvo" site ?

i did not find instructions on how to change the fuel filter for example... i found where its located - under the car between the passenger side wheels, but the clips on the hoses connected to it are different than what im used to ... also do i need to take out the fuel pump fuse and run the car so the fuel line pressure subsides ?
thanks

what no one knows of any other resources for a volvo ?

i used to have a 97 maxima and off the maxima forums i was able to get access to the factory service manual, all the TSB's, the owner's manual, and even was able to read the computer without connecting an OBD2 scanner with all the codes and their definitions...

im sure there are resources out there for a volvo....

There is not much out there as far as OBDII stuff.

Look on e-bay for a program called VADIS and buy that. It is basically Volvo's service manual.

That is an actual program that Volvo used in the Dealers from about late 98 up to 2004 or so.

They also used it to read codes you you would need a $3000.00 adapter to read codes through it.

The fuel filter lines should just have tabs you press in and pull the hose to release.

You can releave pressure through the schrader valve on the end of the fuel rail before removing the lines at the filter.

ok i think ill just buy a haynes manual

a friend mechanic has the vadis computer, he scanned my car for me and replaced 2 o2 sensors that threw codes...
is there a haynes-like online manual i can read ? instead of using a program off ebay

i saw the tabs and felt those "buttons" but it seemed that a crimping tool was required to get them off, but if you say those tabs are supposed to be pushed in than that makes sense also...whats the schrader valve and where is it located ?

On the end of the fuel rail is a valve sticking off the end by the drivers side. Looks like a metal tire stem. It is there to relieve pressure and to connect a fuel pressure guage to test fuel pressure.

I don't think haynes makes a manual yet.

I have been using the Vadis for years and it is one of the best sources out there.
