Hi rlum, welcome to the forum.

I'd like to first let you know that I think you should pull over and shut the car off when you see it overheating.

Next, you likely have a bad water pump, thermostat, or coolant leak somewhere and need coolant. What have you done to find the problem so far.

If you KEEP DRIVING you can destroy the motor when it over heats. i.e. Blown head gaskets, burnt valves, blown coolant hoses, crack blocks, etc. are all results of an over heated motor.

theres no leak of any coolant, water pump ,thermo, hoses looks like i should just change it all. thanks

I once purchased a S90 with a broken water pump. The perpeller was broken off the pump inside the motor. I would remove the thermostat and see if that helps. If it stops running hot after that, install a new thermostat.

If it still tries to run hot, have the water pump replaced. Here is a pic of my bad pump. Sorry I didn't see your reply sooner.

Mine does the same when I drive the car for a while and come to a stop. If I'm stopped for a while the car starts to heat up gradually. When I'm driving its never an issue. I flushed the system running a new thermast and water pump. New coolant of course. Also bought a brand new coolant resivore cap. When it starts to heat up the coolant cap starts to over flow. Any suggestions ?

Like Rspi said, take out the thermostat and see if problem persists. T might be faulty or installed backwards (altho not sure if this can be done).

It would heat up without the thermostat before. I haven't tried it after I bought all that. It's on heats up after its been drivin and then stopped though.
