Default 1997 V40 ABS / SPEEDOMETER problem

Hello - I have recently noticed that my ABS warning light has been coming on intermittently and that when it is on the speedometer stops working too (sits at zero). Problem has become more noticeable over the last few days (i.e. warning light on more often and for longer periods).

ABS module could be worn out (the car has done 157000 miles) or should I consider a worn sensor - if so which sensor(s) influence the speedometer ?

any feedback greatly appreciated !

The ABS has a self diagnostic capability and fault codes can be read using a suitable code reader. This would pinpoint the exact cause of your problem.

I had the same problem and went to the junkyard and found an ABS module out of a 01 s40 and when I put it in all my lights and problems went away. I have a 2000 v40. I am also planning on fusing my old module for either a backup or to sell.
