2001 V40 Keeps Blowing Engine Fuse
Hello,
I just bought a 2001 V40 1.9T. It was running great then one day turning into a parking lot the engine just cut out. I tried to restart the engine and it wouldnt even turn over. Completely dead. Had it towed to a local volvo mechanic who said fuse 11 blew (blue 20A Engine fuse). Replaced the fuse and it started right up. About two weeks after it died again same symptoms when I was taking a corner. Last night i turned it on to come home. reversed out of a parking space and it just cut out. Tried to turn it re-start it... Completely dead. I had a spare fuse so I replace it. Try to restart it and it doesnt even turn over. Check the fuse and its blown as well. I put a 30A pink fuse in the same slot and it blew that fuse as well. I notice that the fuse blows right when you turn the key and you hear the fuel pump... before you even turn over. You can hear it runs for like a second then cuts out. Usually you can hear it for a few seconds. When you turn the key off and back on you dont hear the fuel pump at all. Any ideas what would cause this?!?! Thanks in advance! |

It ended up being a wiring harness shorting on the frame somewhere.
