2001 Volvo V40 Idle Issues
I am having an issue with the idle on my 2001 Volvo V40. Some mornings (not all - seems to be more when it is cold and wet) upon first starting, I need to rev the gas for about 5 or 10 minutes until the idle catches. Otherwise the car will die as soon as I take my foot of the gas to put it into gear. Once I get it going, it is fine to start up for the rest of the day. I've clean the Idle air control valve, but that didn't seem to help. Suggestions???

You probably have a failing throttle body. You can start with a good cleaning by first removing the throttle body and cleaning the front and back of the housing.
