I have only had my car about three weeks, about a week after buying it i filled the tank and added Redex Cetane Boost 0-60 to the fuel, not sure if thats the cause but if i pull away fast from lights the car behind me gets engulfed in all my black exhaust fumes, has been doing it for two weeks now, is this ok or is something not right ?

 

"Rollin Coal"....Its unburnt fuel that is being wasted. It's fairly normal for diesel engines although it sounds like yours is a little excessive. Hows is your mileage? I dont know much about the additive you introduced, but it sounds as if your ecm is adding too much fuel to the curve. I wouldnt be too worried but maybe just diesel for the next fill up and see if that changes the amount of smoke at WOT.

 

just filled up now and have a 50 mile motorway journey tomorrow so will see what its like, i'm getting about 55 miles per gallon, i also fitted a K&N panel filter last week, doubt that will effect too much, but have certainly noticed a bit of a power boost

 

smoke seems to of gone now, must of been the redex cleaning it out
