Hi
My 52 V40 has developed a high pitched engine noise, when I took it to my local garage the mechanic said it was a blocked engine breather pipe. He also said it was a major job to change and I could book the car in a few days time.
Does anyone know how to change the breather pipe as I do not mind having a go myself especially when the guy said it was a major job and I could see the pound signs in his eyes.

 

You would have to remove the intake manifold.
