Default 2005 V50 Automatic choke

Hi, just wondering if the automatic choke on my 2005 V50 is temperature controlled. The choke on my Volvo always comes on every time after I started the engine, the engine will rav up for about 30 seconds, then it will come back down to idling speed. Started last night, after I came home for about half hour then ran out to start the car, and the car studdered a little when accelerate then it was okay. This morning at 5am the engine did not rav up like it used to, and this afternoon when I got off work at 3pm, the engine didn't rav up either, but I noticed the weather here today became kind of warmer than usual. That's the reason why I ask the above question. Does the automatic choke only comes on at a certain temperature?
