Default 2008 V50 2.4i Automatic - Shaking Engine/Airbox

I'm having an issue with a loud vibration/shaking on my Volvo.

Car has just over 100K miles.

Vibration has been present for a couple of months, might be getting worse. Can be felt on steering wheel, causes airbox to shake, plastic intake pieces come loose and can be heard rattling in the cabin.

Below is a link to a video where I place my phone on the engine then airbox to show the level of vibration which can't really be observed visually. The vibration is more noticeable in Drive or Reverse and less so in neutral but still somewhat noticeable.

Recently replaced the VVT solenoid with a unit I sourced at the junk yard, Installed new battery, and replace timing belt. The vibrations have been getting progressively worse for a couple of months. VVT, battery, and timing belt where replaced after vibrations began.

Youtube Video:

Could this be:

1) Engine mount/s? In the video you can see the condition of the passenger side engine mount, seems to be in decent shape and does not shake in this area or near this area.

2) Dirty Throttle body? Is this a DIY type job? I have not seen a tutorial for the 2.4i engine.

3) Bad alternator causing engine to overcompensate? just a thought since i recently changed the battery.

Thanks in advance.

Hard to say, but I'd be interested to find out what that odd "bearing noise" in the video is (more noticeable when you're at the front of the engine (that is, near the right fender). I'd recommend spending a few bucks on a mechanic's stethoscope and probing the various suspects to find out what's making that noise - I suspect you will find the ultimate cause of the vibration.

On another note - it's interesting that putting your phone on the valve cover itself induces very little vibration, but putting it on the airbox seems to indicate a LOT of shaking. It's clear that the further forward you place the camera, the more vibration it "sees". I'd suspect a lower mount bushing has failed, and would suggest dropping the splash panel and looking underneath for a fairly obvious bushing failure. It would be easier to see if the engine was running and/or you could have someone put the car through the N-D-N-R cycle to really see "what's moving". Of course, use appropriate caution and precautions to prevent being smashed flat. ;-)
