Cold air intake
2.4i
any significant HP gain from Cold Air intake install? |
Nope. I'm not sure how a cold air intake which sucks warm air from inside the engine bay can call itself a cold air intake. Factory airboxes are well designed to pull cold air from the outside and preheat air when needed. Its not like you ae running a stage 2 turbo and need to pull tons of air to feed 400 HP. Put in a new paper air filter and that's it.

Word, Thanks boss.
just tossing ideas out there bored at work. |
I'll chime in and agree with mt6127. It IS possible to engineer a system that will actually work better than the stock one, but the engineers who designed the factory intake no doubt spent a lot of time maximizing the efficiency of the stock intake, working within the physical limitations and peculiarities of the vehicle. I've seen dyno testing of various intake options, and a whole lot of them actually decrease your power and miles per gallon (but may sound cool with your foot buried in the carpet). ;-)
