EGR? problem...
I would bet this has been asked, and answered already....but...
I bought a 2005 V50 2.0 diesel (in the UK). It was cheap (£600) and the seller said it had an EGR problem. Mileage is 180k, it had another engine at around 60k.
No faults on display (I haven't put a reader on it yet). It smokes a bit on and off, my partner said she saw black smoke when iI pushed it, and some blue smoke.
It rasps around 3,000 rpm if pushed. It goes ok and says it's averaging 38 to 44 mpg. There is what looks like a valve on the front of the inlet manifold, which is dribbling a little oil.
Any ideas? Is it worth spray cleaning into the inlet tract, or should i just MTFU and take it off to clean it?
And BTW, Hello!
