Diesel warm start problem

Diesel warm start problem
During last winter my 2006 V50 2L diesel developed a problem when starting from warm. It always starts first time from cold but, if driven for a few miles and then left for 5 or 10 minutes, it often needs multiple attempts to get started. The problem virtually disappeared during the summer but, now that it is getting cooler again, the warm start problem has returned. Two garages have failed to find anything wrong and, of course, couldn't get this intermittent problem to show up when the car was with them. Both used computer diagnostics but no fault was indicated. Can anybody suggest what is wrong?

Diesel warm start problem
Unfortunately I have not found a solution. After I had taken my V50 to a diesel specialist, who couldn't find anything wrong, the problem seemed to disappear. I thought they might have rebooted the engine software or some thing as part of their investigation but, for whatever reason, I did not experience the problem for several months. It's a strange coincidence that it did it to me again only yesterday after standing warm for 5minutes!
