Default 01 V70 Radiator Hoses Replacement

Yesterday I replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses. As I was installing the lower hose, my neighbor came by to chat and gave me some advice about the hose clamps. Well, this isn't rocket science but was a revelation to me. I hadn't realized that you could use a miniature ratchet wrench to tighten the hose clamps.......I've always used a screw driver which is not always easy to get a good bite in some locations in the engine compartment. Wow, my miniature ratchet wrench really worked sukper to tighten up the hose clamps, especially for the bottom hose where it comes up to the back top of the engine. I hope I'm not insulting everyones' intelligence on this, but honestly, I've been doing minor maintenance off and on my cars ever since I worked in a gas station during high school 40 years ago and never realized this! Thought I'd share this little tidbit with those few others, like myself, who might be "uninformed" about this!

LOL! I love using my fine-toothed 1/4" ratchet on hose clamps. Makes life easier and also get the clamps tight enough to stay put.
