Like other poster, most recent repairs are mounting have had lots of work done and long list remains.
completed work @ dealer:
replaced timing belt, timing tensioner and aux.drive belt. changed oil and filter.
checked fuel pressure (good) checked for air leaks, found leak, replaced clamp at intercooler, replaced left outer and right inner tie rods, also replaced right outer.replaced worn left ball joint/control arm assembly, replaced under engine mount, replaced spark plugs, engine filter,...............
dealer says car needs:
radiator, torque tube bushing, rear drive shaft, rear main engine seal, reseal leaking angle gear unit.........and this week transmission is weird and winter mode will not go off..this is about another $3500.
This is 4th Volvo owned all have been good cars, this one bought from dealer 4 years old low mileage ( 99 bought in 2003) and has been problematic ever since.
Thanks, what to do?

For starters get a 2nd opinion. Anytime you go to the dealer be prepared to spend twice as much. Try to do the work yourself on some of it. The trannie might be as simple as a good flush. An independant shop (get one that is familiar with Volvo) might save you quite a bit of money over the Stealers (dealer).
