Default 2002 V70 Brake Booster DIY

I am facing a replacement of the booster on my wife's 2002 V70 t5. Read previous post on DIY - but not sure if that was for an older model 850. Anyone with experience on this model? Is it possible to do it without disconnecting brake lines. I really want to avoid a bleed. And are there any tips or tricks for this model year?

Thanks in advance

James

Default Booster DIY - Follow up

GDOG Thanks for the reference. I did read the tread. My one outstanding question that I can't seem to answer from the Booster DIY Sticky is...

if the v70 setup in the engine compartment is any different from say an older model 850. Mine is a 2002 T-5 and I really just want to make sure I don't have to disconnect lines with this model.

I haven't bled ABS brakes a lot and that may change my decision to swap out the booster or have someone else do it.

If you have any additional advice that would be great. Thanks

James

I don't have a V70 and never changed out the brake booster on any volvo so can't comment on that... Personally i don't like to bend brake lines if i don't have to...

But if you're going to bleed ABS brakes i would definitely recommend using a pressure bleeder like the one in this link:
http://www.amazon.com/Motive-Product.../dp/B0002KM5M4

These work really well to do your periodic 2-3 year brake fluid flush too, so it pays for itself pretty quickly...
