Hey guys! Im not new here, I used to have an 850 wagon, and I used to post in that section, but now Im finally back in a Volvo wagon after a hiatus!
The lighting baffles my mind, the light switch does nothing to the exterior lights, and the interior lights are always on, once the key is on accessory, or run. Is this correct? It seems that there is not a dimmer DRL version of the front lights, they're just always on when the car is running.
I, like many many others had a cluster DIM failure, but I hit the jackpot at the scrap yard and found an Xemodex rebuilt DIM with the same part number as mine, from an 02 S60. Fantastic, it works, except the speedometer is way too fast, like 10km/h or more fast. Now the donor car had an automatic transmission, but mine is a manual 5 speed, is there a difference between the calibrations?
Thanks for any insight!

to answer my own question, the needles on rebuilt units may not be exactly where they are supposed to be. When I purchased a scan tool with Live View, I could see that the speedometer and RPM are reading properly, so I just had to pull off the plastic cover off the cluster, and push down the needles to where they're supposed to be. Test drive and adjust.
The lighting still confuses me though, dont get that.
