2006 V70 Radiator Leaks
Bought 2006 V70 2.5T in January with 51K miles. Shortly after that the low coolant warning came on. I added coolant. Had issue checked and my AAA approved mechanic says it needs a whole new radiator because there's a hole in the bottom corner on the driver's side. This is a CA car that lives in a mild climate. Seems like this is way too early for the car to need such a major repair. Anyone else out there having same problem? Any luck in getting Volvo to step up and at least chip in for the replacement? Estimated cost from my shop is over $1,000 to replace the unit.
In the meantime, I have to add coolant every 2-3 weeks. Not showing a leak in the garage, but the coolant is definitely disappearing somewhere on the road.
Thanks.

$1000 for a radiator?
You can get an aftermarket one for $200 to $300, or less. Shouldn't be more than a couple of hours of labor to install it. Here's one link for the part.
Volvo V70 Radiator 2001-2007 | Volvo Parts
In other words, find a good volvo indy shop and they should be to do that job for less than half of what you were quoted. BTW; once you find a good (reputable) indy shop, suggest they pressure test the system to make sure that's the only leak..
As far as volvo doing it for you, good luck; the car is well out of warranty; it is 7 yrs old after all. That damage could have been caused by a rock or any number of things.
