Default v70 t5 and v70r

Yes there's a few threads like this but mines a bit different!!

I'm in a debate right now between a 1998 v70 t5 and 1998 v70r
As everyone knows 5 speed wagons are hard to come by so Im doing a 5spd swap but

The question is which v70 more worth it/easier for swap and more mod friendly?????
( I will be upgrading turbo 18t ecu fmic ect ) AWD seems useless since no snow, worse mpg and harder swap m58

They the pretty much the same car and v70 t5 is faster overall due to not having to
Lug around AWD right?
I would get a 1999-2000 v70 t5 but can't find them and 1999-2000 v70r expensive
And ETM issue!

Any advice please would be helpful since this week I'm
Looking at a clean rebuilt head ( 6k with reciptes ) and rebuilt
AWD system 98 v70r for $3900 or a
Bit cleaner 98 v70 t5 139k one owner $3800? And trying to make my decision!

I would do the R, they are a bit more rare and may be worth a few more dollars if taken care of. Also, if you mod a AWD car you will have a better traction car. May get better times at the track if it's not spinning front tires.

Also, the R's have a little better upgrades and interior trim.
