'98 V70 XC stalling
Okay, here is my long story short. I sold my '90 740 last week so I could purchase the '98 V70 XC. Ever since last Wed it has been nothing but one thing after another. I had it in the shop (Volvo mechanic) today for the key being stuck in the ignition. Since that happened last week, the car started stalling out. I asked him to look for any codes that may tell why and he also drove it...of course, it never stalled on him. He couldn't figure out what was going on. SAid fuel pump, fuel relay, etc wouldn't be detected by the ECU.
I had the throttle cleaned, lower motor mount replaced and the gearshift replaced to help release my key, all done today. I went to run an errand later tonight...car stalls out on me about 6 times. The most ever since I have owned the car for exactly one week. My mechanic said that it's a good car. Needs a few more things done over the next year. But it's a used car, that I expected.
I have read all the other posts about stalling issues on the V70's. I can't find any ideas from the past posts on what my issue could be.
What happens is that I can be idling or cruising. The RPMs will start to drop. The best way to explain it is like the car feels like it's running out of gas. Sometimes it will kick the RPMs back up and I can keep going. Other times it will die, I will throw it in park and restart it immediately. This is no bueno when driving on the highway...FYI.
Any ideas I can take to my mechanic? He is worried that the latch is now broken...I am worried I will be re-ended any day now.
Thanks!
Heather
