wifes V70 stalls occasionally.
car at idle sort of revs up and down ~100rpm.
the o2 sensors are giving a check engine signal.
are the two related?
hopping to avoid dealing with o2 sensors until emissions test comes around.

Your ETM is probably going bad. It might be covered under Volvo's extended warranty. I would have it checked. How many miles are on the wagon? If it isn't covered expect to pay about $1k and remember that only VOLVO can fix the ETM issues.

 

i had the codes read at the autozone this am.
P0135 and P0136. both O2 sensor codes.
nothing indicating ETM. is there anyway to evaluate the ETM?

If both codes lead to the O2 sensors then most likely they are causing the problem.
You can try cleaning the throttle body.
