airconditioner intermittently losing cold air

I have a 99 V70. Driving on the highway today, on a hot summer day, with traffic so slow, my a/c would stop blowing cold air, almost like it's blowing warm air. I turned it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and it worked properly again. After 15-20 minutes it stopped working again and the cycle went on.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I just had my thermostat and temp sensor replaced a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering if this is related to that?

Also, would you suggest I take my car to my indy volvo mechanic or an a/c specialist?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure it matters where you take it, my guess is that it may be a little low on freon. these cars have a history of evaporator leaks so if you have it sreviced, make sure they put leak detector in it so you can check for leaks if it loses more freon.

thanks. I hope you're right and it's just low freon and not something more serious like a problem with the compressor.
