Default Brake Lights (2002 V70)

I was hoping someone could provide a little insight. I have searched the forums and looked at online schematics (I think Chilton) and I have not identified my problem. All corner brake lights are out, center brake light is functional. I have checked the fuse and tested the shunt (as well as swapped in a different shunt). I have measured the coil and normally closed contacts on the brake relay and they all check out. All bulbs were removed checked with a meter and re-installed (twice). From the schematics the brake switch has one set of contacts that control the corner brake lights as well as the center brake light so I am ruling out the switch. I did notice that the brake relay is the old double relay so Recall Campaign No. 131 Brake Light Relay was not performed on my vehicle. So I am guessing there is a small chance that this could be the issue since I only checked the normally closed contacts and did not energize the relay and test the normally open contacts. I imagine I could remove the double relay and swap in a single relay to verify that it isn't the brake relay. The one thing that I do not have information on is the REM. Is this a computer or a hardwired module? Is it possible that this is the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
