Climate Control Question
On my 98 V70 with Climate Control the passenger side would not blow warm air (just cold). The driver side (where I was sitting) was fine. My wife was getting the cold air and could not get it to warm up on Friday driving from Ohio to DC. Coming back on Sunday, it seemed to be working fine. I hate intermittent problems. It's easier to fix when it's broke all the time. Any suggestion?

RE: Climate Control Question
Was the lights on the climate module flashing at all?
It might be a bad dampner motor. |
RE: Climate Control Question
No the lights were not flashing. She tried all kind of stuff like changing the settings.

RE: Climate Control Question
The temp door motor might either be not working at times or hanging up at times.
|
RE: Climate Control Question
What/where is the temp door?
|
RE: Climate Control Question
On the side of the heater box behind the dash.To Get to the passanger side motor you will have to remove the glove box insert then drop the lower dash panel. Then it will be mounted to the side kind of behind the radio. Not the one straight inside the glove box that is the recirc door motor.

RE: Climate Control Question
Thanks Tech. Sounds like a bigger job than I feel like doing right now. After all I drive and my side works, and it's getting to be warm weather. If it acts up while on A/C I will have to look into it.

RE: Climate Control Question
Sounds good keep me posted.

RE: Climate Control Question
I have a 98 V70 XC with a similiar problem. The Temp control for driver and passenger sides are stuck on HOT! and do do not work nor does the control to direct air flow which is stuck on the dash vents so I can't direct air to the floor or defroster. Are the controls electric or vacuum operated. Where should I start?

RE: Climate Control Question
Do you have a setting that says AUT?
|
RE: Climate Control Question
There is an Auto setting for the fan control. It makes no difference when the setting is in auto or manual. The AC light also has a flashing green light. I checked all the fuses with no problems. Is there anything else I can check before I take it to the repairman?

RE: Climate Control Question
You have a ECC system. The Green light flashing tells me there is codes in the system. Most likely you have a bad Blend motor. Or they might need to be recalibrated.
