Default Coolant Vapors on Windshield - '98 V70

Yup ... I'm smelling the sweet aroma of coolant, and the inside of my windshield is consistantly covered in collant vapors (yet, only on the passenger side). Please know: the heat and A/C are operating wonderfully.

Is it time to replace the heater core?

Your imput is always appreciated - thanks!

Yes, heater core replacement time. Be ready for a mess under the carpets. Pull both front seats and front carpets, wash the carpets and insulation out, let them dry in the sun for a day or so before reinstalling. You'll have to wash the floor with soap/water then clean until the greasy residue is gone.

The hardest part of the heater core is, in my experience, unhooking the lines at the firewall. Have new heater core ready with new connectors. Most come with them in the box.

just be careful of the heater hose line fitting's o-ring and spacer configuration. you will see once removed.
