Default cruise control doesn't activate

Hi,
I'm new here, though I've been reading the forum for quite a while.
Here is my problem:
V70 II, 05'2007, D5, automatic, 78.000km.
Cruise control doesn't activate after pushing CRUISE button - but only from time to time. Also, twice so far it switched itself off while driving.
There are no DTC codes to be displayed.
May it be the break pedal sensor?? But shouldn't CC activate then, but not allow to engage only?

I have a 1998 V70 GLT. My cruise control stopped working and I found that the wire on the turn signal harness had broken. I simply solderd it back together and put shrink wrap on it and it was fixed. Your car seems to new for a broken wire. If you go to Swedespeed.com and go to the "community" under forums for RWD you will find pics, etc.

The b*"§%y thing works as designed now, once I learnt how to read the codes :/ Should I still go and check it with Volvo?

Default What?

Hello, "...once I learnt to read the codes."? I thought you said there were no codes. If it's working "as designed" now, why go to Volvo? Is this an "RFM" problem? Kira

Exactly: I learnt how to read to find out there were none The trick is it happens from time to time - but I can't figure out what causes it. In 2010 it happened maybe 3 times (once in autumn and twice in December, incl. the case when CC switched itself off while driving). In January it happened in two mornings in the row (I couldn't switch it on at all), but was fine the rest of the time. No occurrences in February so far. I called local Volvo garage but they said there were no known bugs that could cause this. I guess I can only wait and try to check if it gives any DTC.

Ok, it happened this morning again - and I wrote down the DTCMs:

BCM set
SAS set
SRS ready
TCM checking
ECM set
AUM set
CEM set
DIM ready
DDM checking
CCM ready
PDM checking
REM set
RTI ready
PHM ready
UEM checking

The trip-reset button gives me just a sound indicating no data.

Can it be caused by iPod? I have one connected using volvo's connector (1st generation). What happened this morning was I started the engine, checked CC (ok), switched CC off, drove on for 2km, stopped at red, connected the iPod, drove on for 5km, checked CC - it didn't work.

It's not the iPod.
Another symptom: it happens that, after a longer stay in cold weather, I can't move gears' handle from P despite the engine being on and the break pedal pushed hard. I need to pump it several times before it lets me drive. I guess that proves it's the Break Pedal Sensor, right? Any ideas how much is the repair cost?
