Angry Cruise control, wheel bearing and dumber question!

Hello, I am new to the forums and I have 3 questions. I own a 1998 V70 GLT wagon and two 1998 850 wagons, one strickly parts only. The cruise in the 98 which is the only one of the three that I am currently driving, is not working. I have researched the other posts on the matter and need to go check those hoses under the battery. If that is what the problem is, can the hoses off the parts 850 be uses if they have no holes? Or can I just 'duct tape' over holes? Actually, is there a site you can link me to the tells how many of my 850 parts are interchangable with my v70?

During the annual state inspection, the mechanic told me that one of my wheel bearings was going bad, but that it would not fail on me. I was buying 4 new tires at the time. Will this affect the tire wear? Would this make a vibration in the car that starts at 62 mph? Or could hitting a big ole Maine pot hole broken a belt in the new tire?

Finally, for the dumber question. I see people have all tracs and then talk about the V70R. Are all tracs and AWD the same thing? My insurance company charges me for insurance on an AWD, but I do not have an R after my V70. I do have all tracs. Thanks so much! Sue

1. Yes the hoses will work or cut the old hard plastic part out and install a rubber hose in its place.
For the parts most of the engine parts will be the same the body parts is what changes.
The suspension is pretty much the same as well.

2.I will bet the pothole hit caused the problem but it might only be a balance issue.

Does it say anything after the V70 on the back?

There is some normal looking v70's that are AWD and the X70XC is also AWD.
