Disabling daytime running lights
Does anyone know how to disable daytime running lights on 2006 V70
Dealer, they should do it no charge, very easy on computer.
Alot of dealers will not do it anymore.
We have a customer with a 2005 S40 that is a PI. The dealer would not shut them off nor would they give us the software part number to turn them off.(We have Vida at the shop) |
Why do you want to disable the lights?
To make it like other cars and have it activated by switch, plus it saves bulbs.
Do you have a little flat head screw next to the headlight switch?
no, there is no screw. I checked when I saw a similar post about the screw. I think those are on older models. What about pulling the fuses?
You could try, but you don't want to disable your headlights! When I got out 06 V70, I wanted to do the same thing, but had second thoughts. DRL's are for safety, after all, and are mandatory in Canada. Find the proper fuse, pull it, and see if the headlights, parking lights and fog lamps still work when you turn the switch to the "up" position. Without getting an annoying warning message.

To save bulbs vs. to save lives.
Doesn't make any sense to me. Daytime running lights are very good thing as they increase your visibility from a long way off, PLUS, you know that that car is in motion. Keep them on. |
Daytime running lights are very bad and should be banned.
People drive around at night without their lights on because they have lights shining up front and their dash is lit but have NO rear lights showing. Unless they are going to make headlights totally automatic they should not have daytime running lights and the dash should be dark without the head lights on. |
