Question Drive train noise

Have a drive train noise in my 2000 V70 that comes and goes. It's more noticeable when turning at low speed. Metalic rubbing sound. Will go away for days at a time and then return. Had dealership look at it three times and they can't find the issue.

Default My Guess

Hello, My metalic rubbing noise came and went too. Mine was the FR dust shield. I had gone into some deep mud (needed to be pulled out) and the thing bent enough to touch the rotor. All I needed to do was flex the thing a bit. Removing the wheel was all I had to do to prep for this "job". Kira

It was the drive shaft. Finally got noisey and consistent enough for mechanic to hear. Had to replace.

Hello, Cold weather is a good diagnostic tool for drivetrain noise. Kira
