Default Electronic Throttle Module, the real failure mode

I have done a lot of work on this and my posts and reports dispel a lot of myths. Go to
http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showth...5&page=4&pp=10 and read the
posts in the thread and print out the attachments.
Contact me if you have additional information you can provide or ideas of how we
can get the attention of the right people if I do not get a satisfactory answer
to my letter and package of data to Volvo.

Join the fight,

Don Willson

Don,

Thankyou very much for all the hard work that you have put into this issue. Every owner should visit your site for self education and action on the ETM problem.

Let's hope there is a positive worlwide outcome from Volvo.

Cheers .... Nick

My feeling would be to find some lawyers on some forums to write some letters. Lawyers are good at conveying intentions and pointing out safety hazards. You never know, there may be one out there willing to take this on as a pet project. Keep us informed.

Ummmm, let's forget this "lawyer thing". Read the posts on the ETM!! There is a class action suit already filed!!! Unless you want to pay for separate litigation and exclude yourself from the class.................then go to it. Now..............some weeks ago I wrote a post explaining that Volvo has voluntarily agreed to reimburse/pay for ETMs that fail. Each case is taken on its own merit and should be presented through the dealer. Lastly, if you want to not experience a failed ETM have yours cleaned on a periodic basis and you will find that this action will mitigate the failure rate. I do not wish to sound overbearing, but the ETM issue has been reported on a very frequent basis.......................I know as I am on top of the issue. Perhaps an inquiry in the search mode will help.

Hi,

I have lodged the problem as a defect with our Australian Department of Transport - defect notification portal.

I have referred the issue to Volvo Australia who have confirmed acceptance there is justification to assess the problem.

Cheers
