Hi Guys, Iv'e noticed lately that my fuel consumption is quite high,
after doing a little checking i have noticed that the instantanious fuel consumption
is way up 99.9litres per 100km (thats when just going slow), it kind of goes back to normal after about 3 minutes of driving.
i'm guessing some kind of sensor, maybe?? Any help would be great..
good luck

I am not a mechanic, but don't cars use more gas the first few minutes after they start running, until the engine reaches normal operating temperature? In other words, isn't this normal behavior? Maybe one of the guys who actually know what they are talking about can help
.

If it keeps running "rich" after it warms up,then I would start checking in to it.

Tech,
I Did a tune up 1200km ago, new genuine plugs, fuel filter, coolant flush, oil change with fully synthetic nulon oil.. running at 15.6 litres per 100km, thats really high it normally runs about 11.5-12.5 litres per 100km
I have done the check results as follows:
Checking dts
dtcs in vehicle
abs ready
srs ready
tcm ready
ecm ready
aum ready
cem ready
dim ready
dom checking
ccm dtc set
pdm checking
psm dtc set
rem checking
swm ready
uem ready
mate i have no idea what this means i'm guessing that the "checkling one's are the issue"?
thanks in advance.
good luck

That is all good there. The main ones I wanted to see was the ECM and TCM.
Are you saying you are getting alot more milage now?
It may just be a computer blip that when cold it is reading funny.
Job hunting isn't going all that well. But I am trying.
Sorry about coming over there a little to far for me!!! LOL
I am trying to keep to only working on Volvo's but I think I may have to cave and work on everything.

I'm using more fuel per 100km.
Look it's no big deal, just trying to get on top of things early before there is a major problem
Iv'e owned this car long enough to know that things start out small only to become a major problem... Fast.
could it be a oxygen sensor going south?
good luck
